Arnold Emil Krog was architect and painter. He bas born 18.03.1856 in Fredriksvaerk and died 07.06.1931 in Tisvilde. His parents were Hans Jacob Grøgaard Krog and Jenny Meyer.

Arnold Krog was a multitalented genius, who started with architecture. In 1884 he was offered employment at The Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Factory, whose new director, Philip Schou, wanted a "new national style" in porcelain. He learned to know about porcelain beginning with the blue fluted. He began to integrate the new style influenced by the Japanese originals in the molds that he multicoloured in underglaze technique.

Underglaze products were really known by the Danish public at the exhibition in Copenhagen in 1888. At the World Exhibition in Paris the following year, they achieved international fame and secured factory a success that goes right up to the present. Also the following exhibitions were successful for RC and Krog and more and more followers appeared on the arts market.

After his resignation from the factory in 1916 Krog lived in Tisvilde, where he cultivated painting and other arts in fine naturalistic depictions of natural and hunting are the favorite topics. Krog also made drawings for furniture, metalwork and crafts.

His more than 30 years at the factory marked the golden age of Royal Copenhagen.
