Bing&Gröndahl Sommerfugl Service
Sommerfugl - Butterfly - Schmeterling
Fanny Garde designed and launched her Mage (Seagull) service in light blue and white colors in 1892 based on a raw piece design generated by Bing and Gröndahl just before. This design gave all parts a scale pattern, enriched many parts with sea horses, snails, etc. A variant of this service in only Copenhagen blue and white was issued right after. The Butterfly service. It was also successful but not as successful selling as the Seagull service however in some countries preferred.
Variants of this service with gold edge trim (Kipling) and with blue colored scales (Dickens) and finally Dickes with gold trim.
One of the most decorative services that was presented by a Danish factory.
This service collection comprises several hundred pieces. Only very few selected ones will be shown and described below.
