Arthur Boesen
"Christian Benjamin Olsen was a painter. He was born 13.3.1870 in Copenhagen, died 29.12.1949 in Gentofte, (Urne Bispebjerg Kgrd.). Parents: Painter master Rasmus Bernhard Boesen and Bodil Catrine Rasmussen. He married Kristing Mathilde Fredriksen 29.6.1894 in Copenhagen. She was born 8.11.1869 in Copenhagen, died 13.3.1920 in Fredriksberg, daughter of sugar baker Poul F. und Ane Kirstine Jørgensen.
Arthur Boesen was educated as a painter especially ffor landscape pictures, most autumn and winter motifs. As a porcelain painter, he decorated unique vases in both underglaze and overglaze, and was signing artist both at Bing&Gröndahl as well as Royal Copenhagen as well as for Dahl Jensens Porcelain Factory.
Boesen was educated on paintings by the father; later at Carl Lund (theater painting and decoration); Technical School for 4 years.
Arthur Boesen travelled to Germany (Dresden, Nuremberg, Munich), Switzerland and Italy 1888-1890; residing abroad again 1898-1900; 1902-08.
He was employed by Bing & Grøndahl for 3 years; The Royal Copenhagen Porcelain factory 1912-26; then painter at Dahl Jensen's Porcelain Factory.
